Our team

Debra earned a degree in Textiles & Merchandising from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s Degree in education from the University of Houston. Born in Kentucky, she spent her adult life in Houston working as a teacher, vice-principal, and instructional coordinator.

After retiring in 2020, she began working  part-time for MK Decorative Design. Debra brings a wealth of knowledge for textiles along with impeccable organizational skills. Her job entails establishing trade accounts, acting as purchasing agent, and serving as the initial contact for new clients in scheduling the "all-important initial consultation.” 

Debra enjoys sewing and working, especially in her multi-faceted role with MKDD. She raised three children and enjoys being a grandmother of six.

As the mother of three including twin boys,  Joanna understands the need for design that can accommodate the demands of a full and busy household without sacrificing style and functionality.  

A native Houstonian who grew up

 in the Memorial area, Joanna always appreciated beautiful design and honed her creative skills in her own homes as well as those of friends and family.  She elected to pursue a design career full-time when she joined MK Decorative Design after working in administration for the energy industry.   

Loren sees her work as a designer as that of a guide leading her clients through the maze of decisions required to create a space that truly reflects their vision and distinctive style. She enjoys pairing traditional and modern elements and searching for distinctive pieces that are unique to each person and design project. 

With a master’s degree in library science, Loren is always seeking out new sources of information about design for inspiration. She especially enjoys working with textiles and colors to find that perfect combination.  Loren is excited to have recently joined MK Decorative Design after staying at home to raise her three school-age sons.  

Mari has been a member of the local interior design community for the past seven years, recently joining MK Decorative Design. 

She has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s network of design partners to include those that offer some of the most custom and unique products available. From furnishings to flooring, accessories to antiques, finishes to fabrics, Mari is familiar with where to find the best quality

 at the best price. 

A native Houstonian, Mari attended Spring Branch Independent Schools and graduated from Ole Miss. She is married and the mother of three sons and one daughter.  

Suzanne is a native Houstonian, nearly lifetime resident of the Memorial area, and mother of three. This background has led her to a design perspective that integrates local style with practical functionality.  

Being highly organized and detail-oriented, Suzanne brings clients' ideas to life in a way that serves their specific needs and stylistic vision. She is enthusiastic about trying and suggesting new concepts while using the world around her to serve as her inspiration.  

Suzanne is a graduate of Louisiana State University and enjoys spending time with her family and friends when she is not designing for her clients. 

Teresa brings years of design experience to MK Decorative Design as well as an inspired global perspective from living and traveling throughout Europe and Asia. She enjoys the “thrill of the hunt” for perfect interior finishes, furnishings, art and accessories that complement each unique design plan. 

A student in the University of Houston Interior Design Certificate Program, Teresa operated her own design business in Katy, Texas before moving abroad. 

A mother of three and the grandmother of six children, she understands the need for beauty and durability when creating an inviting and comfortable living and business environment.   

Tracy  is the mainstay for the financial portion of the business at MK  Decorative Design and assists with installations and other creative  pursuits when required.  

A graduate  of Texas A&M University with an  accounting degree, she also holds a master’s degree in finance from the  school.  Tracy has handled accounting, finance, and human resources duties for several Houston businesses in the public accounting,  industry, and non-profit sectors.  

The mother of three children, Tracy  enjoys applying her knowledge of accounting and finance to the creation  of beautiful design.
